The conception of Venus Fine Art Gallery meets with various needs and objectives. Conscious of the part that culture plays, to all those that are unfamiliar to it, in the understanding of the functioning of the life style of an established society, we estimate that the time has come to give the world another image of Haiti, through its art as it has never been done before. Indeed we, a group of young immigrants living in the United States of America, have realized that our country, eroded for more then twenty-five years by political unrests, economical stagnation and sometimes devastated by natural disasters, is most of the time badly thought of at the international level.

We know by experience that art, there is no need to be rich or intelligent to appreciate it and to our opinion nobody is insensitive to all the forms of art. Therefore in a first time we want to make those who have already make contact with our culture, appreciate it through our art on the one hand and, on the other hand, to make those who have never have the opportunity to do it, to discover the culture of the writers Jacques ROUMAIN and René DEPESTRE ; of the sculptors Albert MANGONÈS and Philippe DODARD ; of the musicians Wébert SICOT, Nemours JEAN-BAPTISTE, Gérard DUPERVIL and Martha JEAN-CLAUDE, of the painters Luce TURNIER, Anne-Marie DESRUISSEAUX, Préfète DUFFAUT and of Jean-Claude LEGAGNEUR whose one of the paintings can be admired in the international arrival room of American Airlines in John Fitzgerald Kennedy airport in New York city.

Each visitor of the site will be able to contemplate and, if he / she feels like it, buy online one or the different paintings of Haitian painters from all the generations and from all the trends.

From the sale of these paintings we contemplate, in a second time, helping deprived children offering them an education that has nothing to envy to the one that is offered to well-to-do family children in the best schools of our country. We foresee to found a classic school where the child will be able to, since his/her younger age, learn the basics of painting, while starting ,of course, with drawing classes because we are firmly convinced of it ,talents are not lacking. They are purely and simply misused. So that our dream can actually come true by September 2009, we commit ourselves to saving 6% of the sale of each sold painting and putting it into an account that will be created to this effect and as soon as we get the sufficient funds and that the means in human resources are available, we will launch this project that we have set our heart on in order to give back to our homeland a little of what it gave us.

We will provide you other pieces of information on Haitian art in a gradual way with the passing of our research.
